What to expect from future versions of NTFS Permissions Reporter
I'm very happy with the first version of NTFS Permissions Reporter but of course there is always room for improvement.
This page will give you an idea of the features you can expect to see in the future, and of course if you think of a useful feature that is not on the list, please let me know and if I agree
that it is a good idea then I will add it to the list.
Feature list last updated:
16th February 2012
COMING IN VERSION 1.5 (Estimated release date:
Q2 2012)
Export
and load reports in NTPR format
This custom file format will be used to store reports so that they can be loaded back into NTFS Permissions Reporter at a later date or for comparing one report against another (see below)
Compare reports
You will now be able to select multiple reports and
compare them - the application will highlight
permissions that have changed between the different
reports, including new permissions and permissions that
have been removed.
COMING IN VERSION 2.0 (Estimated release date:
TBC 2012)
SQL Database Integration
Choose to store report results (and report settings) in an SQL database and then you can easily view, load, export, and compare previously run reports.
It would be great to hear which of the features listed above you would class as most useful/important, as it is possible that they might not all make it into
the versions they are intended to be included in (though hopefully that will not be the case) so it would be nice to know
which features you would like me to concentrate most on if I do decide some features will have to wait until
a later release.
Thanks,
Chris
